Belts, Bags and Clutches, Oh My!

Organize your handbags

Greetings All!

A month ago, my blog post focused on sprucing up your closet for spring. That is a large task to take on, so I will break it down into more manageable steps. Each week, I will focus on one or two categories to help you get your clothing closet organized.

Today let’s look at your handbags, wristlets, and belts.

Step 1—Pull them all out of your closet and group them by item size-wallets in a pile, shoulder bags together and keep going until you have categorized all your purses and belts.

Step 2—Go through each grouping and decide what items you want to keep and will use, what should be thrown out and what can be donated or given to a friend, sister or daughter. (Even think about selling the items of higher value). If you look at all your shoulder bags together-it will become very clear which ones to keep. I am sure you have your favorites!

Step 3—Designate an area in your closet that can store your belts and purses. Utilize bins you have and be creative. A tray can store your belts and a letter collater can store small purses. Make sure you can see what you own because that means you will use it. Otherwise, out of sight, out of mind!

Step 4—Apply the color code method (light to dark) when organizing. Makes it easy to find your black evening clutch when you are heading out for the evening.

Step 5—After you finished organizing your purses and belts, take a photo so you have a visual reminder of what you accomplished.

Remember—When you buy a new purse or receive one as a gift, you need to follow the 1 in 1 out rule to keep your closet organized and maintainable.

Happy Saturday and Happy Organizing!

Best Regards,

Laura
